About Run United

United Way for Southeastern Michigan’s Run United team is a group of runners, walkers, cyclists and volunteers who put their feet and wheels to the pavement to better their communities. Over the past seven years, hundreds of team members have participated in in-person and virtual events, logging thousands of miles and raising hundreds of thousands of dollars for United Way initiatives. Run United offers a chance to get physically active with friends and co-workers while doing good for our community.

Together, we’ve raised hundreds of thousands of dollars to support United Way’s work building equitable communities of stable households and thriving children.

Run United participants have made an incredible impact in our community. Together, we’ve provided local students with laptops and other technology as part of our work to close the digital divide, allowed students to grow their home libraries through Scholastic book fairs, and helped students be prepared for the first day of school with backpacks and school supplies.

fifth annual Run United Virtual Marathon

Let’s get together again to run a marathon — virtually — to support children and families in our community.

From Aug. 12 through Sept. 13, runners and walkers will commit to logging 26.2 miles. You can run, walk or roll — complete these miles however works best for you!

Funds raised through the fifth annual Run United Virtual Marathon will support students in our region, helping them take on the school year with school supplies, books, and access to out-of-school time programming!

Participants in the event are encouraged to engage friends and family to raise funds and virtually cheer them on as they log miles and complete their marathons. Weekly challenges provide more opportunities to get involved!

This event is open to all ages and abilities. Miles can be completed in whichever way works best for each participant, walking, running or rolling.
