Women United is a dynamic group of women dedicated to promoting United Way for Southeastern Michigan’s early childhood education and literacy work. Members engage through volunteerism, networking and giving. Their devotion to this cause helps us ensure that parents and caregivers have the resources they need to help children meet developmental milestones.
Since 2019, the group has focused its efforts on supporting United Way’s initiative to help caregivers complete their Child Development Associate (CDA) training. This certification helps child care workers increase their skills, and helps care facilities earn higher ratings from the state’s child care quality rating system. It also helps child care facilities access federal funding to help the children in their care.
Each year, Women United hosts its annual Women of Influence Summit, led by DTE Energy. The event brings together more than 500 influential women and men for a morning of invigorating conversation and philanthropy, raising six figures annually to support early childhood education.
Members contribute $500 annually and receive access to exclusive volunteer, advocacy and learning opportunities, invitations to networking events and more.
