Emerging Philanthropists (EP) is a group of young leaders working to make an impact in our region through innovation and equity in the nonprofit sector. Members donate and contribute their time to make a difference and also have opportunities to network with community philanthropic leaders and corporate executives in Southeastern Michigan.

Membership Criteria and Benefits

EPs give a minimum $500 annual donation to United Way for Southeastern Michigan. As young leaders making a difference, benefits to this gift include access to custom volunteer opportunities and social and networking events including happy hours, Beyond the Boardroom sessions, policy functions and programs with our Tocqueville Society.

Emerging Philanthropists Happy Hours

Please join our Emerging Philanthropists for their monthly informal Happy Hour, where all are welcome! Come mingle, engage with friends of United Way and enjoy some of our region’s best spots.

5 p.m. Tuesday Feb. 27
Art & Jakes, 39715 Six Mile Road, Northville

We’ll have two ways for you to make a difference in our community as you catch up with your fellow Emerging Philanthropists! Attendees are encouraged to bring any new children’s book to help kick off March Is Reading Month, and you can fill out a postcard to urge lawmakers to expand eligibility for the Michigan Energy Assistance Program.

Light appetizers will be provided.
