Summer Discovery is a free learning program that helps K-8 students explore their interests, engage in their communities and discover their potential through robust enrichment and academic programming.

Our 2-1-1 helpline provides referrals to programs to assist with food, housing, financial assistance, utility assistance and more. Help is available 24 hours a day, every day of the year, from anywhere in the state of Michigan.

Work one-on-one with a coach to reduce your financial stress and achieve your life goals. You’ll have access to career coaching, job training, financial coaching, help navigating benefits and other opportunities to help you build the life you want.

Connect4Care Kids is a centralized resource from the United Way for Southeastern Michigan to help families with young children understand child care assistance options and connect with child care providers in Macomb, Oakland, Washtenaw and Wayne counties.

Need help paying utility bills? We can help you with that. MEAP (Michigan Energy Assistance Program) is a statewide program providing assistance with energy bills.  United Way can provide MEAP assistance statewide.

We invite parents and caregivers to visit the Early Childhood Educators (ECE) Career Center. Virtual and in-person opportunities are available.

ParentPowered is a research-based text-messaging program for parents with children who are newborns through eighth grade. Each week, you will receive age-appropriate facts, easy tips and opportunities for growth to boost your child’s learning by building on existing family routines.

Meet Up and Eat Up meal sites provide breakfast and lunch for children 18 and younger Monday through Friday all summer long, and during some school breaks.

Detroit Soars: Funded by The W.K. Kellogg Foundation, the Detroit SOARS Scholarship program provides financial support for Detroit families with children under age 5 to offset child care tuition.

The Child Care Aware Checklist gives parents a list of important questions to ask care providers to find one that is right for their family.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention provides lists of developmental milestones for children up to five years of age. This can help parents identify any delays their child may have, plus connect them with some free resources.

Early On is Michigan’s system for helping infants and toddlers with developmental delays or who are at risk for delays. It’s designed to help families find the social, health, and educational services that will promote the development of their infants and toddlers with special needs.
