Out-of-school time

A school is more than just a place to learn. United Way’s out-of-school time (OST) opportunities ensure schools and community organizations can provide holistic enrichment activities to students. They focus on enrichment opportunities provided before and after school, and during school breaks.

Safe, enriching after-school programming

United Way for Southeastern Michigan is proud and honored to partner with Ballmer Group to offer funding to selected out-of-school time partners. Over the next two years, United Way will support these funded partners in their efforts to provide local students with safe, enriching after-school programming.

United Way also offers annual community investment grants to local partners focused on providing quality out-of-school time programming and initiatives to support families and strengthen communities. Thanks to the combined efforts of these 30 funded partners, United Way’s out-of-school time grants are projected to reach more than 47,000 kids!  Please check this site to learn when those grants opportunities open for applications.
