Our vision is a community where resources are easy to find and access no matter who you ask for help. We have the knowledge and the ability to make this happen by working together.
What is CIE?
A Community Information Exchange® (CIE) is an effort to better connect people with resources. Health and social services organizations make up a network of partners that help people in need. To support this assistance, organizations use technology and tools to share information. This helps organizations grow their impact and individuals get the help they need faster and easier. Since 2018, United Way has been working with partners to develop and grow a CIE in Southeastern Michigan called Connect4Care™.
CIEs support searches for resources, service requests, information sharing about services received and more. Our 2-1-1 Resource Directory supports Connect4Care™’s ability to match people to organizations’ services. This enables more timely and appropriate referrals for community care.
Connect4Care™ creates easy connections to resources for community members.
Partners
Connect4Care™ results in better awareness of resources in the community through streamlined referrals and no duplication of efforts.
Community
Connect4Care™ enables partners to better respond to trends and predict changes in community needs. This results in more informed and fair allocation of resources and policy solutions that strengthen the sector.
Who is part of Connect4Care™?
The Connect4Care™ network is made up of health and social services organizations in Southeastern Michigan. They provide services such as food, health care, child care, employment, transportation and housing assistance. Participating organizations share information about their services to connect clients and partners in the network.
Connect4Care™ depends on input from community members and collaborators. Input found in committees, feedback, and surveys are used to create standard practices and policies. There is no Community Information Exchange without community.
