ANN ARBOR, MI — March 26, 2025 – United Way for Southeastern Michigan is proud to announce that Dr. Rose B. Bellanca, Ed.D., president of Washtenaw Community College (WCC), has been selected as the 2025 Woman of the Year. Dr. Bellanca will be honored at the annual Power of the Purse event on April 16, 2025, at the Morris Lawrence Building on the campus of Washtenaw Community College from 5:30 – 7:30 p.m.

Dr. Bellanca was chosen by the Power of the Purse committee for her unwavering dedication to education, workforce development, and community enrichment. “I am truly honored to receive this recognition from United Way,” said Dr. Bellanca. “Helping students and the local workforce thrive through education and community collaboration has been a lifelong passion. It means so much to be part of a mission that makes a real difference, and I am deeply grateful for the opportunity to support the success and well-being of our community and beyond.”
