United Way expands Detroit’s Connect 313 tech hub network with 12 community hubs

DETROIT, MI  — United Way for Southeastern Michigan, in partnership with the Connect 313 coalition, has announced the newest cohort of 12 Neighborhood Resource and Technology Hubs that will serve as digital access points across Detroit’s seven districts.

Thanks to investments from the Rocket Community Fund, Stellantis, and Ally Financial, Connect 313 has expanded its network from eight to 12 community Tech Hubs in 2025 — a milestone that reflects the city’s growing commitment to digital equity and empowerment for all residents.

“These Tech Hubs are more than just computer labs — they’re trusted neighborhood spaces where Detroiters can build digital skills, connect to affordable internet, and access the tools needed to thrive in today’s connected world,” said David Luea, Manager of Digital Inclusion at United Way for Southeastern Michigan. “By increasing the number of funded hubs this year, we’re ensuring more residents in our city have access to resources and the support they need.”

Each Tech Hub will offer free digital literacy training, computer and internet access, and on-site support from trained digital navigators who assist residents with online applications, telehealth, workforce development, and more. Tech hub visitors will also be able to access a wide range of community partner resources, including the City of Detroit’s online Services Portal to pay bills or access city programs, and United Way’s 2-1-1 hotline, offering free resources and referrals to local helpful services 24 hours a day, seven days a week in Wayne, Oakland, Macomb, and neighboring counties. Together with the City of Detroit’s Certified Tech Hubs, there are now 32 locations across the city’s seven districts where residents can access digital resources, devices, and much needed tech support.
