Hope Starts Here, Imperative No. 1 is helping Detroit families get the support they need for a healthy start. Led by Henry Ford Health and the Detroit Health Department, this brings together more than 30 partner organizations from hospitals, community groups, government agencies and universities, called the Detroit Maternal, Child & Family Health Alliance, or “The Alliance” for short.
Together, these partners are working to make work it easier for moms, babies, dads and families to find care, services and support. By working as one team, we help families connect to resources and get help when they need it most.
One way we are doing this is through Why Wait?, Hope Starts Here! a citywide movement that encourages people to seek support early in pregnancy. Why Wait? helps families find trusted programs, healthcare and community resources sooner, because getting help early can lead to a healthy pregnancy and a healthy baby.
Everyone deserves access to the care and support they need. Through Why Wait?, Hope Starts Here is working to make finding help easier for families, so every child has the chance for a strong and healthy beginning.
