Power of the Purse es mucho más que bolsos elegantes, se trata de personas. Los fondos recaudados se reinvertirán en organizaciones comunitarias que apoyan la estabilidad financiera de las mujeres locales necesitadas.

Karen Chapell
2027 Woman of the Year
Karen Chapell is a Managing Partner at Retirement Income Solutions (RIS), where she and her three partners lead an advisory team responsible for more than $3 billion in assets under management, helping over 1,200 families prepare for and navigate retirement with confidence. Throughout her career, Karen has been dedicated to guiding clients through changing markets and life's milestones, serving as a trusted partner in building and preserving their financial futures.
A passionate advocate for community engagement, Karen believes that strong communities are built through service, collaboration, and meaningful investment. Retirement Income Solutions has a long-standing commitment to supporting their greater philanthropic community and initiatives that address food insecurity, health, and education.
Karen has translated that commitment into leadership through service on the boards of The Family Learning Institute, Cancer Support Community, Eastern Michigan University's Undergraduate Symposium Advancement, and as Co-Chair of the Tocqueville Society for United Way for Southeastern Michigan. She currently serves as Vice Chair of the University Musical Society (UMS) Board of Directors. Karen is especially passionate about connecting people and organizations to amplify community impact, and she finds her greatest fulfillment in helping others succeed.
Karen and her husband, Charlie, have called Ann Arbor home for many years, where they raised their two sons. Both sons and their spouses now live locally, allowing Karen to enjoy close family connections while continuing her professional and community leadership.
