Tanya Heidelberg-Yopp is Senior Vice President, Systems Integration and Operations at United Way for Southeastern Michigan. She previously served as Vice President of College and Career Pathways for the organization, and will continue to provide leadership to the College and Career Readiness Engagement Campaign; develops corporate and community partnerships that advance outcomes and help students build strong foundations for success in college and career and life; leads the transition of the high school turnaround Initiative; positions United Way as an expert and trusted partner in college and career readiness programs; and provides leadership and direction on Linked Learning implementation to build effective career pathways in designated schools in the region. Tanya joined United Way in February 2016.
Tanya has served as CEO of Linked Learning Detroit, a program she launched in connection with ConnectEd: The California Center for College and Career. The program was funded by the GM Foundation, the Skillman Foundation and Ford foundations and incubated by Excellent Schools Detroit. She has also served as senior vice president for culture, community and diversity as well as senior vice president for global sales operations at Compuware Corp. in Detroit, and she is a previous vice president of business affairs for MTV Networks.
Tanya serves on the board of the Cranbrook Art Academy as well as the Coleman A. Young Foundation. She is a graduate of Syracuse University, holds a law degree from New York University School of Law, and she completed a program in management development from Harvard Business School. Tanya was chosen as one of Crain’s New York Business’ 40 Under 40, was named one of Black Enterprise Magazine’s Top 50 Power Brokers in the Entertainment Industry and has received the Thurgood Marshall College Fund Award of Excellence.
Tanya enjoys entertaining friends with her husband and spending time with her daughter.
