Participate as an individual

The Detroit Financial Well-being Innovation Challenge is committed to gathering and acting on feedback from community residents who have first-hand experience with the financial difficulties the Challenge is trying to address. Here are a few ways you can participate in the Detroit Financial Well-being Innovation Challenge as an individual.

GIVE FEEDBACK ON APPLICANT ORGANIZATIONS’ IDEAS

During the Concept Stage, applicant organizations will create a 2-minute video pitch for their idea. There are two ways that you can give feedback on these ideas:

  • Comment on Facebook once the videos are posted in early April.
  • Sign up to participate in our community review group. Read more about this group below.

Community Review Group

We are creating a group of community residents who will watch applicant organization video pitches and provide comments and questions. The video pitch review period will take place from April 5 through April 12. We’re looking for individuals who can commit 2-3 hours of their time between April 5 and April 12. Reviewers will be expected to watch several of the videos and provide thoughtful comments and suggestions virtually. You will have the opportunity to provide written comments on your own and/or participate in group conversations to share feedback.
Community reviewers who successfully participate in the review process will receive a $50 gift card.
