Todos ustedes se ven afectados por el sistema de racismo y desigualdad de su pa\u00eds y, por lo tanto, todos, pero especialmente aquellos que tienen poder, son responsables de desmantelar las estructuras que permiten que persista. El poder se refiere a la capacidad de las personas o grupos para ejercer influencia y control sobre otros en funci\u00f3n de su raza, etnia o estatus social, lo que subraya la importancia de ceder el poder a los grupos despose\u00eddos.\r\n\r\n<!-- \/wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph -->\r\n\r\nHoy, al concluir el Desaf\u00edo de la Equidad 2023, debemos volver a centrar la atenci\u00f3n en la raza. Estados Unidos funciona sobre una base racista que oprime sistem\u00e1ticamente a las personas que no forman parte del grupo dominante (hist\u00f3ricamente blanco, masculino, heterosexual, propietario de tierras, etc.). Todo ello con el fin de mantener y proteger el sistema de supremac\u00eda blanca. Para trabajar en pro de la equidad y la justicia en todas las formas de opresi\u00f3n (racismo, sexismo, capacitismo, persecuci\u00f3n religiosa, heterosexismo, edadismo, antisemitismo y otras), debemos centrarnos en la raza, ya que la supremac\u00eda blanca se beneficia de su silencio y lo espera de ustedes.\r\n\r\n<!-- \/wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph -->\r\n\r\nCon todo esto en mente, es importante recordar que para trabajar verdaderamente por un mundo m\u00e1s justo y equitativo, es necesario que las personas blancas y otras personas en posiciones de poder tomen medidas concretas para cambiar sus comportamientos personales que perpet\u00faan la supremac\u00eda blanca. <a href=\"https:\/\/the-ard.com\/2021\/12\/08\/why-not-being-racist-isnt-enough-to-stop-white-supremacy\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Diario contra el racismo<\/a> se\u00f1ala que \u201ccuando trabajamos, abrimos una cuenta bancaria, votamos, formamos una familia, compramos... todos ustedes interact\u00faan con instituciones injustas, excluyentes u opresivas. Esto no significa que todas las personas sean racistas. M\u00e1s bien, las desigualdades raciales est\u00e1n tan integradas en nuestra vida cotidiana y son tan habituales que se han convertido en algo rutinario. El racismo es la norma\u201d.\u201d\r\n\r\n<!-- \/wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph -->\r\n\r\nSer un aliado no es una identidad, es una acci\u00f3n. Es una pr\u00e1ctica activa y constante de utilizar el poder y los privilegios para lograr la equidad, la inclusi\u00f3n y la justicia, al tiempo que nos hacemos responsables de las necesidades de las personas despose\u00eddas.
