Emerging Philanthropists spotlight: Tim Lowe

When did you first start supporting United Way? Why did you join EP? 

I have supported the United Way though my firm, McDonald Hopkins, for 10 years, but took the step to join EP in 2017 so I could deepen my participation and build relationships with other United Way supporters.  It’s been a great decision.

What was your first job?

I worked at Shoe Carnival in college!  Among other duties, I called out sales over the PA system and spun the big wheel of discounts with customers!

What is your favorite pastime / hobby?  

I enjoy building things (furniture, tree forts, Ninja Warrior-style playsets), cooking, and being outside.

What book have you read more than once? Who is your favorite author?  

I enjoy sci-fi/fantasy books and have read the Game of Thrones series twice. Among authors, John Scalzi is great.

What are you looking forward to most in the next few months? 

Hopefully seeing more people in person!
