Stop a spike in health care costs!

The enhanced Premium Tax Credits (PTC) are a lifeline for nearly 22 million Americans, many of whom could not otherwise afford health coverage. However, these credits are set to expire at the end of this year. If Congress fails to extend them, the average health premium for an American who doesn’t receive their coverage through a public program or employer will double, leaving an estimated 4 million Americans without health insurance.

The enhanced PTCs dramatically improve the lives of nearly 500,000 Michiganders, including working families, older adults, small-business owners, and those who are self-employed. Raising the cost of health insurance for our neighbors will force many to delay or skip needed health care or take on medical debt. It will also destabilize health insurance marketplaces, harm our state economy, and increase premiums for everyone.

As the cost of living continues to rise, tell your legislators to keep health insurance costs affordable by extending the enhanced Premium Tax Credits.
