Take a Stand Against Hunger! Tell your Legislators to Protect SNAP Today.

In 2023, approximately 42 million people across the U.S., including more than 16 million children who relied on the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) each month to put food on the table and meet their basic needs during challenging times. In early April, the US House of Representatives passed a budget that would require $230 billion in reduced spending on the Department of Agriculture over the next decade, placing critical supports like SNAP at serious risk of deep cuts. The U.S. Department of Agriculture has already halted crucial programs, canceling millions worth of food shipments to Michigan food banks. These cuts leave food banks scrambling to feed their communities as more people experience hunger.

Every day, more than 7 million children across the country face hunger, showing that these programs do not currently have enough resources to support all families in need. In volatile economic times, with workers and families facing so many challenges, we need to increase support for effective anti-hunger programs, not cut them. Please join us in urging Congress to ensure that no household in our community will be forced to go hungry.
